The Role
As a Money Advice Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting our tenants through challenging financial circumstances. You will provide high-quality information, advice, guidance and practical support across welfare benefits, energy and utilities, and wider welfare reform, helping to mitigate the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis. Working as part of a dedicated Money Advice team within Customer Advice and Income Collection, you will empower customers to build financial resilience, maximise their income, manage priority debts and sustain their tenancies. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives and the communities we serve.
You will bring a strong understanding of the welfare benefits system, with the ability to provide holistic, customer-focused advice. You will communicate confidently and compassionately, particularly with customers experiencing financial difficulty.
You will be motivated, flexible and committed, thriving both as part of a team and when working independently in managing your own caseload to meet tight deadlines. You’ll be passionate about making a difference, willing to go the extra mile for tenants, and comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
You will hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use and be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
About You
We're looking for a highly organised and adaptable individual with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to follow and monitor processes effectively are essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience engaging with both customers and the workforce, demonstrating excellent communication and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, is important. You should be comfortable handling a variety of operational enquiries efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
A flexible and proactive approach to work is key, along with a professional, polite, and friendly telephone manner. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and can balance competing priorities with ease, we’d love to hear from you.
